Analytical Chemistry Laboratory

Experiments related to gravimetric analysis, volumetric analysis, acid and base balances, oxidation-reduction reactions, spectrophotometric analysis, subjects are performed. Experiments involving various quantitative and qualitative analyzes are carried out in these laboratories established for educational purposes.

Organic Chemistry Laboratory

In this laboratory, which is used for undergraduate education, besides experiments regarding general separation and purification techniques, synthesis of compounds containing various functional groups are performed. Structure of organic compounds, classification of properties, characteristic reactions and synthesis of various functional groups, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers, amines, aromatics, etc. Obtaining basic organic compounds such as their structure, properties and reactions. Experiments are carried out on these issues.


Instrumental Analysis Laboratory

Classification of analytical methods, electromagnetic radiation. Optical spectroscopy instruments. Molecular UV Visible spectroscopy. Molecular fluorescence, phosphorescence and chemiluminescence. Theory of atomic spectroscopy, flaming and electrothermal atomizers. Emission, Infrared, X-Ray spectroscopy. Surface analysis. Mass spectroscopy. Thermal methods (TG, DTA, DSC). Electroanalytical chemistry and Chromatographic separations.

Chemical Engineering Laboratory I

Studies on basic physicochemical principles and methods and their applications to chemical engineering are included. Laboratory applications of physical chemistry, fluid mechanics and heat transfer principles, evaluation of experimental data and results, solutions and solubilities, molecular weight determinations, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, conductometric and potentiometric measurements, surface chemistry and experiments on phase behavior of various systems are performed in the laboratory.


Chemical Engineering Laboratory II

Heat and mass transfer, laboratory applications of chemical reaction engineering principles, instrumental analysis and experiments with technology, evaluation of experimental data and results, lime, cement, oil, paint, detergent, fertilizer, fuel, gas etc. industrial analysis can be made. The new models of Elemental analyzer and bomb calorimeter used in fuel analysis are among the laboratory devices.

Chemical Engineering Laboratory III

In this laboratory, which is considered as an application of the courses our students take in the second, third and fourth years of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and Separation Processes, our students are given the opportunity to work on the pilot-scale models of the basic units of the processes they may encounter in the enterprises just before graduation. Laboratory studies on the application of chemical and physical principles to chemical processes, Mass transfer, simultaneous heat and mass transfer, process control, instrumental analysis and technology application-oriented experiments, pressure drop in fluids, pumps, velocity measurements, heat transfer by conduction and convection, double Experiments such as tubular heat exchangers, tubular boiler heat exchangers, condensation, distillation, crystallization, crushing and grinding processes, hydraulic classification make a recall of previously learned information and gain application experience.
